Axles are forged from the input material – square blooms made of vacuum degassed steel of required quality. Bonatrans manufactures over 200 types of rough axles.
The basic shape of the axle is forged on the forging press after heating up to the forming temperature.
Subsequently, the axle is subjected to controlled heat treatment (normalization or hardening). The process as a whole is computer controlled with respect to axle size and material in order to achieve optimum mechanical properties.
Unique identification of each axle in the whole axle forging line and archiving of data on the complete processing for later evaluation are standard features of the process.
The axle is released for subsequent processing after necessary tests have been performed, the objective of which is to validate dimensional and material properties.
