BONATRANS GROUP experienced a successful year |

Bohumín, 12th February 2009 – BONATRANS GROUP, a member of the financial and investment group KKCG, achieved excellent results in 2008. The biggest European railway wheels producer reached sales of 5.7 bil. Czech Koruna (€ 230 mil.) in 2008 which is 23.5 % increase from 2007. The company from Bohumin, Czech Republic, delivered approximately 260 thous. products to over 70 countries worldwide. In the last year BONATRANS GROUP employed 1,146 people, which ranks the company among the biggest employers in the Moravian-Silesian region.
BONATRANS GROUP sales in 2008 grew to the value of 5,735 mil. Czech Koruna (€230 mil.). Compared with 2007 results it represents annual growth of 23.5%. The amount of production of railway wheels and wheelset reached 260 thousand products.
The company followed its business plan, as Mr. Vaclav Paprok, the Financial Director of BONATRANS GROUP, puts it: “We can say that the business plan was met and/or exceeded in all aspects. The company fulfilled its strategy of orientation on more complicated products with higher added value. The year 2008, however, was also in token of growing prices of inputs.”
Growth of sales was supported by extension of the work team. Average workforce grew annually by 12.5% compared with 2007. The company employed 1.147 workers in 2008. The productivity of labour reaches an excellent value of 5 mil . Czech Koruna per employee.
The company takes a sober view of the 2009 Business Plan. “The global crisis affects everybody. We cannot expect that the excellent results of 2008 can be repeated. Nevertheless I do not think that 2009 will be a bad year. It will only not be as good as 2008,” added Mr. Paprok.
