Standard wheelsets are not connected to the driving mechanism and are usually equipped with brake disks installed either on the axle or plate of the wheel. These wheelsets can also be provided with a noise absorber, as needed. Axles of these wheelsets are often delivered with a longitudinally drilled hole, which allows easy diagnostics during operation and reduces the wheelset weight.
